Izabela Tokarska – women's health physiotherapist, FizjoStyl Krakow

A few words about me

In 2019 I graduated from the University of Physical Education (AWF) in Krakow, where I obtained my master's degree. But why did I choose physiotherapy? The question seems simple, but for me it was crucial.

As a teenager, I struggled with unbearable headaches that made everyday life much harder. I often reached for strong painkillers, which unfortunately did not eliminate the cause. It was physiotherapy that finally proved to be an effective solution. During my own rehabilitation, I not only got to know this profession but also felt an inner need to help others get rid of pain.

During my studies, I had the opportunity to work with patients of all ages with a wide range of complaints. That was when I discovered that I find the greatest satisfaction in caring for women. That is why my master's thesis focused on urogynaecology, so that I could better understand and support women in their unique health needs.

In my work, I combine the knowledge gained from numerous courses and training sessions with my personal life experience. As a mum of two wonderful little girls, I have experienced pregnancy, the postnatal period and two completely different births, which allows me to approach the needs and problems of women at this special stage of life with deeper empathy.

Izabela Tokarska – FizjoStyl

Womanhood has always been something special and beautiful to me, but also often difficult. That is why I know how important it is to create a safe space for patients, where they can talk freely about intimate problems without fear of taboo subjects.

My specialism is urogynaecology

I specialise in women's health therapy, providing comprehensive care in the field of intimate health.

My practice covers a wide range of therapies, focusing on problems related to painful periods, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pain during intercourse.

If you are experiencing difficulties related to pregnancy, I am here to help you reduce pain and prepare your body for a natural birth, as well as to support you through a gentle postnatal recovery. I provide rehabilitation for diastasis recti and scar therapy so that you can return to full fitness after giving birth.

In addition, I provide physiotherapy focused on correct posture, which can help prevent and reduce pain associated with postural disorders.

Whatever your needs, I am here to help you get rid of pain and improve your quality of life in terms of intimate health.

I continue to develop in the field of urogynaecology so that I can keep up to date with the latest scientific advances in treating various conditions and give my patients the best possible support.

In my free time

I like spending time actively outdoors

I love every form of travelling and sightseeing. Holidays are an opportunity for me to discover new places, get to know different cultures and experience the unique atmosphere of each place.

Having children did not slow me down – my husband and I simply added a new means of transport to our trips, a campervan, so we can keep travelling in comfort and as a family.

One of my passions is cooking and baking. I love experimenting in the kitchen, creating new recipes and enjoying the taste of the dishes I make. But what gives me the greatest satisfaction is sharing these treats with my loved ones. Every empty plate is the biggest compliment for me.

The mountains in winter mean a lot to me, especially when I can spend time skiing. I love the feeling of freedom and joy that skiing down a slope gives me, especially in the sunny Dolomites.

I am very pleased with our appointment with Ms Marta. From the very beginning her tremendous commitment and professionalism were evident. Ms Marta took a very thorough history, asked about the details and calmly explained everything. I felt that she genuinely wanted to understand the whole situation, rather than just quickly assess my child.

The appointment lasted a full hour and forty minutes – nobody rushed us, and all the attention was focused on my daughter. I really appreciate that Ms Marta had her own opinion and didn't just say what a parent would like to hear. She was able to present her observations calmly and objectively, even when they differed from my assumptions.

She has a wonderful way with such young children. You could see a great deal of patience and experience. Even when my daughter didn't always want to cooperate, Ms Marta was able to adapt the assessment to what she could manage. I left with a wealth of knowledge and the feeling that my child had been in good hands. I definitely recommend Ms Marta.

I warmly recommend Ms Weronika! I came to her at 30 weeks pregnant with terrible back pain radiating to my breastbone, which meant I could only sit and had trouble breathing. Ms Weronika showed tremendous knowledge, complete professionalism, commitment and empathy. She used gentle, safe techniques as well as taping. The relief was immediate – I left the practice pain-free, could finally breathe freely and lie down without pain. A wonderful specialist!

You feel looked after from your very first contact with the practice! The receptionist is absolutely lovely. The appointment itself with Weronika Kukuś, MSc – worth every złoty. A fantastic approach to the patient; every part of the appointment was discussed so that nothing would take me by surprise or feel uncomfortable. The factors the doctor focused on were analysed in detail according to their importance, followed by a summary of which muscle work I should concentrate on after the appointment. During the appointment the doctor checked several times that everything was clear to me, worked with me at the pace I needed and, as I say, from the very first moments at FizjoStyl I felt that as a patient I had come to a place where I matter most and where everyone is keen to help me and make sure I feel comfortable. We need more places like this!

A cosy green practice
My daughter had an appointment with Mr Konrad – a very nice way with children, he quickly built a rapport with her. He thoroughly examined what was causing her open-mouth problem, recommended suitable exercises to do at home and follow-up appointments every so often to monitor how her muscles are working with the orthodontic brace.
An added bonus is the convenient location – close to public transport, with a large car park on Wolska Street.

Highly recommended! As soon as you walk in, you can see that the practice is attractive and welcoming, and the atmosphere makes you feel at ease. The urogynaecological physiotherapy was carried out professionally and with great attentiveness. Ms Weronika is exceptionally competent – it's immediately clear that she has extensive knowledge and experience. The appointment took place in a relaxed atmosphere and I felt completely looked after. I will certainly be back, both to continue the therapy and for other treatments.
