Scars can form after injuries, surgery, burns or other types of skin damage
Scar physiotherapy focuses on improving the function and appearance of scars after injuries or surgery, including after a caesarean section.
Working with the scar
It uses techniques such as massage, exercise and mobilisation to increase skin elasticity and range of motion in the area of the scar.
The aim is to reduce pain, lessen post-operative adhesions and restore as much function and aesthetic appearance as possible.
A physiotherapist's specialist approach helps patients achieve better results than without intervention. As a result, patients can enjoy a better quality of life and greater self-confidence.
Regular physiotherapy can bring significant improvements in the elasticity and appearance of scars and in the function of the tissues around the scar – reducing fascial restrictions.
At our clinic we tailor the treatment plan to the patient's individual needs and the type of scar.

A scar is not just about looks
A scar after a caesarean section or surgery can limit movement and cause pain – scar therapy means precisely releasing tension.

What our patients say
I am very pleased with our appointment with Ms Marta. From the very beginning her tremendous commitment and professionalism were evident. Ms Marta took a very thorough history, asked about the details and calmly explained everything. I felt that she genuinely wanted to understand the whole situation, rather than just quickly assess my child.
The appointment lasted a full hour and forty minutes – nobody rushed us, and all the attention was focused on my daughter. I really appreciate that Ms Marta had her own opinion and didn't just say what a parent would like to hear. She was able to present her observations calmly and objectively, even when they differed from my assumptions.
She has a wonderful way with such young children. You could see a great deal of patience and experience. Even when my daughter didn't always want to cooperate, Ms Marta was able to adapt the assessment to what she could manage. I left with a wealth of knowledge and the feeling that my child had been in good hands. I definitely recommend Ms Marta.
I warmly recommend Ms Weronika! I came to her at 30 weeks pregnant with terrible back pain radiating to my breastbone, which meant I could only sit and had trouble breathing. Ms Weronika showed tremendous knowledge, complete professionalism, commitment and empathy. She used gentle, safe techniques as well as taping. The relief was immediate – I left the practice pain-free, could finally breathe freely and lie down without pain. A wonderful specialist!
I've just had my first appointment with Ms Weronika Kukuś and I'm left with a very positive impression. Ms Weronika was professional, took a thorough history, explained everything clearly and proposed a treatment plan. The appointment took place in a pleasant atmosphere and I felt very well looked after.
I truly recommend her with all my heart!
You feel looked after from your very first contact with the practice! The receptionist is absolutely lovely. The appointment itself with Weronika Kukuś, MSc – worth every złoty. A fantastic approach to the patient; every part of the appointment was discussed so that nothing would take me by surprise or feel uncomfortable. The factors the doctor focused on were analysed in detail according to their importance, followed by a summary of which muscle work I should concentrate on after the appointment. During the appointment the doctor checked several times that everything was clear to me, worked with me at the pace I needed and, as I say, from the very first moments at FizjoStyl I felt that as a patient I had come to a place where I matter most and where everyone is keen to help me and make sure I feel comfortable. We need more places like this!
I highly recommend physiotherapist Konrad Niziankiewicz – professional, committed and genuinely effective. From the very first appointment I felt comfortable and knew I was in good hands. Thanks to his help I quickly noticed an improvement. He is also very kind and creates a friendly atmosphere during appointments.
A cosy green practice
My daughter had an appointment with Mr Konrad – a very nice way with children, he quickly built a rapport with her. He thoroughly examined what was causing her open-mouth problem, recommended suitable exercises to do at home and follow-up appointments every so often to monitor how her muscles are working with the orthodontic brace.
An added bonus is the convenient location – close to public transport, with a large car park on Wolska Street.
Recommended
Highly recommended! As soon as you walk in, you can see that the practice is attractive and welcoming, and the atmosphere makes you feel at ease. The urogynaecological physiotherapy was carried out professionally and with great attentiveness. Ms Weronika is exceptionally competent – it's immediately clear that she has extensive knowledge and experience. The appointment took place in a relaxed atmosphere and I felt completely looked after. I will certainly be back, both to continue the therapy and for other treatments.
I definitely recommend Ms Karolina Rado – an absolute sweetheart, helpful and so lovely. Every session takes place in a pleasant atmosphere and is very comfortable 🙂 after the very first appointment I already felt hopeful that things would get better 🙂

Frequently asked questions
Do you work with caesarean section scars?
Yes. Scar therapy, including after a caesarean section, is provided by Weronika Kukuś and Karolina Rado.
What methods do you use in scar therapy?
Among other things, we use scar massage and mobilisation, exercise, needling and scar taping. We tailor the plan to the type of scar and the patient's needs.
Can a surgical scar restrict movement?
Yes. A scar after a caesarean section or other surgery can restrict movement and be painful, so in therapy we work on skin elasticity, post-operative adhesions and fascial restrictions around the scar.
Does physiotherapy improve the appearance of a scar?
That is one of the aims of therapy – we work on the colour and visibility of the scar. Equally important, however, are tissue function, skin elasticity and pain reduction.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book a visit without a referral – just choose a time online or give us a call.
Do you accept patients through the NFZ (Poland's public health fund)?
No, we only see patients privately. Prices are listed in our price list.
