Visceral osteopathy – FizjoStyl Krakow

Restoring balance, improving the mobility of internal organs and supporting overall health and wellbeing

Visceral osteopathy is a branch of osteopathy that focuses on diagnosing and treating dysfunctions of the internal organs.

Visceral therapy in physiotherapy

During visceral therapy, the mobility and elasticity of the organs increase, which translates into improved overall health.

When working with a patient, we perform gentle manual manipulations aimed at restoring balance within the abdominal cavity. Through subtle touch and manipulation, we aim to improve blood circulation, nerve function and organ mobility.

This therapy can be used for a range of complaints, such as digestive problems, abdominal pain or breathing disorders. Visceral osteopathy is a holistic approach that takes into account the connections between the organs and the rest of the body, with the aim of supporting the patient's overall wellbeing.

Who is it for?

Digestive problems

Visceral osteopathy can be used to treat a range of digestive problems, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation, abdominal pain or heartburn. Manipulation within the abdominal cavity can influence bowel peristalsis and improve bowel function.

Pelvic organ dysfunction

Visceral osteopathy can help improve the function of the pelvic organs, which is important for urinary problems, urinary incontinence or problems with the reproductive organs.

Back pain

Disorders of the internal organs can affect the biomechanics of the spine, which in turn can lead to back pain. Visceral osteopathy can help identify and treat these connections.

Breathing disorders

Manipulation of the chest and diaphragm can improve chest mobility and ease of breathing.

Post-operative rehabilitation

After abdominal surgery, visceral osteopathy can be used to support the healing process, restore organ mobility and reduce scarring.

Improving organ function in the neck and head area

Visceral osteopathy can be used in the neck and head area to improve blood flow, tissue elasticity and overall organ function in this region.

Postural disorders

Disorders of the internal organs can affect body posture. Visceral osteopathy can help restore structural balance and improve posture.

Use in sports medicine

Visceral osteopathy can be used in sports medicine to support organ function and reduce tension in the body's internal structures in athletes.

Stabbing pain under the shoulder blade – where does it come from?

Konrad describes how his pain under the shoulder blade turned out to be linked to the diaphragm and stomach – the cause is not always where it hurts.

Heartburn: a stretching exercise

Pressure under the left rib arch, lean back and turn your head to the right.

Heartburn: trunk rotations with breathing

10 trunk rotations to each side with deep breathing – gets the diaphragm moving.

The exercises in these videos are general guidance. If your pain is severe, getting worse or not going away, book a consultation.

I am very pleased with our appointment with Ms Marta. From the very beginning her tremendous commitment and professionalism were evident. Ms Marta took a very thorough history, asked about the details and calmly explained everything. I felt that she genuinely wanted to understand the whole situation, rather than just quickly assess my child.

The appointment lasted a full hour and forty minutes – nobody rushed us, and all the attention was focused on my daughter. I really appreciate that Ms Marta had her own opinion and didn't just say what a parent would like to hear. She was able to present her observations calmly and objectively, even when they differed from my assumptions.

She has a wonderful way with such young children. You could see a great deal of patience and experience. Even when my daughter didn't always want to cooperate, Ms Marta was able to adapt the assessment to what she could manage. I left with a wealth of knowledge and the feeling that my child had been in good hands. I definitely recommend Ms Marta.

I warmly recommend Ms Weronika! I came to her at 30 weeks pregnant with terrible back pain radiating to my breastbone, which meant I could only sit and had trouble breathing. Ms Weronika showed tremendous knowledge, complete professionalism, commitment and empathy. She used gentle, safe techniques as well as taping. The relief was immediate – I left the practice pain-free, could finally breathe freely and lie down without pain. A wonderful specialist!

You feel looked after from your very first contact with the practice! The receptionist is absolutely lovely. The appointment itself with Weronika Kukuś, MSc – worth every złoty. A fantastic approach to the patient; every part of the appointment was discussed so that nothing would take me by surprise or feel uncomfortable. The factors the doctor focused on were analysed in detail according to their importance, followed by a summary of which muscle work I should concentrate on after the appointment. During the appointment the doctor checked several times that everything was clear to me, worked with me at the pace I needed and, as I say, from the very first moments at FizjoStyl I felt that as a patient I had come to a place where I matter most and where everyone is keen to help me and make sure I feel comfortable. We need more places like this!

A cosy green practice
My daughter had an appointment with Mr Konrad – a very nice way with children, he quickly built a rapport with her. He thoroughly examined what was causing her open-mouth problem, recommended suitable exercises to do at home and follow-up appointments every so often to monitor how her muscles are working with the orthodontic brace.
An added bonus is the convenient location – close to public transport, with a large car park on Wolska Street.

Highly recommended! As soon as you walk in, you can see that the practice is attractive and welcoming, and the atmosphere makes you feel at ease. The urogynaecological physiotherapy was carried out professionally and with great attentiveness. Ms Weronika is exceptionally competent – it's immediately clear that she has extensive knowledge and experience. The appointment took place in a relaxed atmosphere and I felt completely looked after. I will certainly be back, both to continue the therapy and for other treatments.
