## Good communication between patient and therapist

### First visit – what to bring

- For your first visit, bring any imaging results you have, your latest blood test or other tests related to the problem you are experiencing (e.g. a urine test if the pain is located in the abdomen/pelvis).
- Bring a change of clothes, ideally shorts and a comfortable T-shirt. Please bear in mind, however, that the physiotherapist/osteopath may ask you to undress to your underwear if the assessment or therapy requires it.
- Remember to stay hydrated. always drink more water than usual before and after the therapy.

### Cancellation policy

**Cancellation / rescheduling**
Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours before they start; after that, cancelling or rescheduling incurs a charge of 100% of the appointment price.

**Failure to attend without notice**
If you do not attend your appointment, a fee of 100% of the appointment price applies.

**Booking an appointment constitutes acceptance of the cancellation/rescheduling policy.** Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

## How to prepare for your first visit?

If you are seeing a physiotherapist or osteopath for the first time, you can expect the questions below. It is worth thinking about your answers – this will make the assessment easier.

### What hurts / what is your problem?

e.g. pain at the front of the left shoulder, difficulty bending down, back pain, numbness in the legs

### When did the symptoms start?

e.g. yesterday, a month ago, 5 years ago

### In which position does the pain/problem get worse or ease?

e.g. lower back pain gets worse when I sit for a long time and eases when I move

### Do you have any conditions / are you receiving treatment?

e.g. chronic heartburn, diarrhoea, constipation, diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease

### Treatment history

e.g. consultation with a specialist doctor, ultrasound, X-ray, MRI scan

### Other injuries, operations, accidents

e.g. appendix removed 10 years ago, a hard fall onto the buttocks, a road accident
